Type UV Flame detector technology factfile A compact, gas tight ultra-violet flame sensing head giving rectification compatible output. Tested and approved by BG plc, the unit is specifically designed to operate with all Pactrol burner controls in applications where probe detection is not feasible. Description The UV head gives a rectification compatible output enabling all Pactrol Gas Burners to be operated on either flame rectification (electrode) sensing or ultra-violet flame sensing without any modification to the Pactrol control. Construction Technical Data The Ultra-violet sensing head and associated circuitry is housed in a robust gas tight aluminium housing. Voltage 220 -15% .... 240+10% V The viewing end of the housing is protected by a 2mm thick Frequency 50...60 Hz quartz window. Ambiant Temperature -5 ... +85 °C The Ultra-violet sensing head is designed to be attached to the viewing tube or burner by means of a 1/2" BSP thread. Output,maximum 5µA Electrical connections are made through a 4 pin plug and minimum 2.5µA socket, simplifying installation and replacement. Flame-failure response time 0.75 s The printed circuit board mounted voltage-multiplier enables the UV flame sensing head to be operated consistently over a wide Weight 85gm range of mains voltages. Dimimensions 104 mm X 25.4 mm dia Viewing end- Installation tapped 1/2” BSP X 12mm deep NB. Before installing or replacing any controls, check that the type number/voltage is correct for the application. The following points must be considered when installing the Pactrol UV flame sensing head:- (a) The UV head should wherever possible be directed towards the base of the flame to monitor maximum UV radiation. Scanners which are suspected to be faulty should be returned to the supplier for examination. L'extrémité du tube est équipé d'un quartz de 2 mm d'épaisseur. La cellule Pactrol UV doit être monté à l'extrémité d'un tube de visée ou au brûleur (pas de vis Mâle en V2 BSP). Les raccordements électriques sont faits dans un connecteur enfichable qui facilite l'installation ou le remplacement des cellules. L'amplificateur intégré de la cellule UV permet une variation importante de la tension d'alimentation sans altérer ses performances. INSTALLATION CD Avant toute installation ou remplacement, vérifiez que le type et la tension de la cellule corresponde à l'application Recommandations de montage: • La cellule UV doit être autant que possible dirigée vers la base de la flamme pour obtenir une radiation Ultra Violette maximale. • Aucune autre flamme ou source d' UV ne doit se trouver dans l'angle de visée de la cellule. • La cellule UV doit avoir une visée ininterrompue de la flamme pour la contrôler. • L'étincelle d'allumage ne doit pas se trouver dans l'angle de visée de la cellule UV car des radiations UV parasites entraîneraient la mise en sécurité du contrôleur. • Si possible, un piquage d'air sera fait sur le tube de visée de flamme. Cet air permettra d'une part un refroidissement de la cellule UV et de son quartz, et d'autre part permettra de réduire les dépôts de combustion sur le quartz. Le connecteur 4 pôles de la cellule UV doit être raccordé avec un câble PVC de bonne qualité ( un câble coaxial n'est pas conseillé). Le câble utilisé doit d'un seul tenant et d'une longueur raisonnable (maximum 25m). La broche 1 du connecteur doit être relié directement à une borne de terre (bien vérifier la terre de Terre Neutre N ---- Sortie signal de flamme 3 Raccordement Electrique 3 Cellule UV Notice Technique CONTROLE DU COURANT DE FLAMME Le circuit ci dessous permet un contrôle du courant de flamme détecter par la cellule UV. On placera entre la borne 2 de la cellule UV et la borne d'entrée du signal de flamme du contrôleur Pactrol un micro ampèremètre sur lequel on placera en parallèle une capacité de 100 µF.
