The OEM TC000801 is a two-component total hardness test kit (3G-CBM-01963) comprising the EAU03410 indicator plus a titrant, used for cleaning and descaling water hardness checks. Testing uses a 5 ml sample: half a drop of indicator is added with swirling, then titrant is added one drop at a time with mixing after each addition, counting drops through the colour change from red to blue, with each drop corresponding to the value shown on the bottle. Above 3 ppm CaCO3 the sample turns red, while blue indicates absence of hardness and below 3 ppm the colour shifts from violet through grey to pink.
